- Inspected for dye on the entire A/C system. Did not see any external leaks. Used "sniffer" to check for refrigerant leaks and did get a slight detection around the expansion valve area where it bolts to the evaporator core. More than likely the prior diagnosis was correct and the leak is in the evaporator. We would replace the HVAC box, and all associated orings.
